Venue Instructions

Barton Rovers F.C. are very fortunate to have facilities at Little Heath School Playing Fields, Turnhams Farm Recreation Ground and Calcot Recreation Ground, please treat these grounds as if they were your own.

Whilst there are many common rules and guidelines, there are also some venue specific rules which we have been requested to adhere to.

GENERAL RULES

  • Litter must be tidied up and removed from all sites.
  • Where parent lines are not provided teams must provide their own cones or barriers.

To use the changing rooms at Turnhams Farm the following should be carried out:

  • The keys to the main front door and kitchen are kept in a safe in the store.
  • The safe can be found just inside the store doors on the right-hand side fitted ¾ of the way up the wall.
  • The key to the safe is attached to the T bar which is hung up to the right of the safe the key has a black handle. The safe should be kept locked at all times and the T bar returned to its hook when not in use.
  • Unless your team is playing on the Parish Council pitch the doors to the changing rooms should always be kept locked. After use the keys must be returned to the safe and hung up to be easily seen.
  • The changing rooms and Referees room have keys which are kept in the kitchen above the fire extinguisher on the left had side when facing the sink. Changing rooms can therefore be locked when not in use however, it is recommended that teams including opponents remove their possessions and keep with them pitch side whilst games are being played.
  • The kitchen is only to be used by Managers or trusted assistants and must be kept locked at all times when not in use. The kitchen facilities are available for use by teams, but this must be kept clean at all times.
  • After games have finished and both teams have dispersed it is the Managers responsibility to ensure that the changing rooms are locked and have been left tidy (sweeping brush and dustpan are beside the kitchen door and the keys are put back into the safe ready for the next Manager to use. If there are several games taking place Managers must ensure that these rules are adhered to and responsibilities for the keys agreed between them.

TURNHAMS FARM PARISH COUNCIL PITCH

Instructions

On match days:

  • Signs and no parking cones will be put out on behalf of the Club and must be adhered to.
  • The store to the changing rooms will be unlocked and must be left closed when not in use.

To use the pitch:

  • The goals are demountable and kept in the store on the right-hand side where they should be returned to when finished with.
  • Instructions on how the goals fit together are displayed on the store door (left hand side).
  • Nets and flags are kept in a blue container on the left-hand side of the store.
  • Goal sockets on the pitch should have covers installed which should be removed and stored safely whilst a game is in play and then returned to the sockets once the goals have been taken down.
  • Goals, nets and flags are to be kept tidy in the store.

Using the Changing Rooms:

  • After every game please sweep the floors in all areas as best you can even when muddy, when muddy please try and remove as much mud as possible.
  • Please leave the kitchen clean and tidy with any items used washed and placed out to dry.
  • After every game please flush all toilets.
  • After every game please turn off all the heaters in toilets and Referees room.

In an Emergency:

  • If access to the pitch is required by an Emergency vehicle the key to the car park gates and gates to the pitch is on the T bar in the changing rooms store, see changing room instructions above.
  • A defibrillator is installed and available on the front of the Turnhams Parish Council hall.

LITTLE HEATH SCHOOL PLAYING FIELDS 

Instructions

Please note:

  • No Dogs are allowed on School grounds
  • No smoking is allowed on School grounds
  • No parking is allowed in front of the School or Parish Council hall gates.
  • School corner flags are not to be used for Club games.
  • The green container must be left tidy with metal freestanding goals tidily up against the side as access is required by the School.

On match days:

  • Signs and no parking cones will be put out on behalf of the Club and must be adhered to.
  • The store to the changing rooms will be unlocked and must be left closed when not in use.
  • The pedestrian gate and container doors will be unlocked; the green container doors must be left closed when not in use.

To use the pitches:

  • 5 v 5 pitches – removable Samba or freestanding metal goals are stored in the green container and taken to the pitch to be set up, after the game has finished they must be returned to the green container.
  • 7 v 7 pitch – removable Samba or freestanding metal goals are stored in the green container and taken to the pitch to be set up, after the game has finished they must be returned to the green container.
  • 9 v 9 pitch – Permanent goals have been installed.
  • 11 v 11 pitches – posts are left erected, nets are contained in blue bins in the green container. A ladder is available to assist in putting up the nets. Once finished with the nets and ladder must be returned to the green container with the nets being put back in the blue bins.

Pitches:

  • Pitch 1 – 11 v 11 next to the green Container, Pitch 2 – 9 v 9 between Pitch 1 and the Rugby pitch and cricket square, Pitch 3 – Runs alongside the fence to Turnhams Recreation Ground, there are two 5 v 5 pitches one is behind the goals on pitch 2 (9 v 9) and pitch 3 (11 v 11) and the other between pitch 3 and the rugby pitch, the 7 v 7 pitch is furthest away from the green container between Pitch 3 and the Rugby pitch.

In an Emergency:

  • If access to the pitch is required by an Emergency vehicle the key to the ground gates is on the T bar in the changing rooms store, see changing room instructions above. The T bar operates the drop-down posts.
  • A defibrillator is installed and available on the front of the Turnhams Parish Council hall.

CALCOT RECREATION GROUND 

Instructions

On match days:

  • Keys for access to the ground are kept in the key safe at Turnhams Farm (see changing room instructions above). The keys are attached to a yellow tag marked Calcot Store, there is a key to the padlock to the gate, padlock to the store and lock to the Changing Rooms.  They should be collected from and returned to the Store at Turnhams Farm before and after games.  Managers must liase with each other to ensure that they are safely returned to the store at Turnhams Farm.
  • Parking is provided in front of the Parish Council offices with overflow parking available on the right-hand side before entering the main gates. The main gates once opened can be left in position.
  • Access to the pitches is from either side of the parish council building.
  • The changing rooms and store are on the right-hand side of the Parish Council offices when facing them from the pitches.
  • Please ensure that when all games are finished including any other hirers that the store and changing rooms are locked.

To use the pitches:

  • There are three 11 v 11 pitches, two 9 v 9 pitches and one 7 v 7 pitch on the grounds. Moving down the grounds from the changing rooms the first three pitches are 11 v 11 and numbered 1, 2 and 3 in that order.  The next two pitches are 9 v 9 which run goal positions top to bottom and are numbered 4 and 5 with pitch 4 on the right hand side (Savacentre).  The bottom pitch which again runs top to bottom is Pitch 6.
  • 7 v 7 pitches – removable Samba goals (blue or green bags) will be kept tidily in the store for assembly at pitch side. Once finished with they must be returned to the store and stored tidily.
  • 9 v 9 pitch – removable Samba goals (red bags – clearly marked BRFC – Please note that Tilehurst Panthers store their goals at this venue, these are not to be used under any circumstances) will be kept tidily in the store for assembly at pitch side. Once finished with they must be returned to the store and stored tidily.
  • 11 v 11 pitch- removable metal goals and nets will be kept tidily in the store for assembly on the pitch. Socket covers must be replaced after use.  Once finished with they must be returned to the store and stored tidily.

In an Emergency:

  • If access to the pitch is required by an Emergency vehicle the key to the ground gates is the same as opens the store.
  • A defibrillator is installed and available on the front (car park side) of the Calcot Parish Council hall.
