Barton Rovers F.C.

Football coaching, training and competitive youth football

for boys, girls and adults

Teams from Under 7s to Adults

Barton Rovers FC is one of the largest youth football clubs in Reading with over 250 registered players.

We have a reputation for fair play, sportsmanship, good organisation and the development of youth soccer, and set high standards for attitude and behaviour on and off the pitch.

With the support of Little Heath School and Tilehurst Parish Council, our home grounds in Tilehurst provide us with excellent playing facilities for mini soccer and 11 a side formats.

Dedicated 4-6 year Olds Development Centre

We hold a Development Centre on Friday evenings to coach soccer skills in partnership with Procision Football Coaching for children from age 4 to age 6 in a safe and friendly environment.

Children from age 4 to age 6 are welcome to come and join West Reading’s only Charter Standard Community Club for fun and inclusive coaching carried out by our partners Procision Sports Academy.

F.A. Charter Standard Community Club

In 2004 we were one of the first clubs in the Reading area to achieve the FA Charter Standard.

In May 2013 we were awarded the coveted FA Community Club Charter Standard.

We are the only official Club in the West Reading area to hold this status.

We are based at Turnham’s Farm , Little Heath Road, Tilehurst, Reading, Berkshire, RG31 5TQ

The playing fields are available to Barton Rovers F.C. members. We do ask that members use the facility as requested by the committee.

Annual Tournament

We run a well organised annual football tournament in July each year, but...with regret, the club has taken the decision to cancel the 2021 tournament. With the facilities we have, the current uncertainty around possible restrictions and the consequences of needing to cancel late on, we feel it is the right thing to do. We very much hope to see you all in 2022 when we will be back.

Disability Football

The Special Needs group activities are currently suspended due to Covid 19 restrictions and facility and staffing issues arising from them.We are currently exploring options for activities to recommence when possible.

Club Welfare

Safeguarding children and young people involved in football activities is a key priority of Barton Rovers FC and is taken very seriously at all levels within the Club.

In line with the Football Association guidelines we have introduced policies to place the welfare of children and young people above all else and everyone involved in the Club should take time out to read and understand these policies.

Club Welfare Officer

Everyone in contact with the Club is encouraged to report any concerns to the Club Welfare Officer to pursue as necessary and appropriate.

Our History

Barton Rovers Boys Football Club was formed in 1982 by Tony Cook, John Quinn and John Summerfield who lived in Tilehurst, Reading (United Kingdom) with sons who wished to play football.Due to the lack of local opportunity, a team was formed and named Barton Rovers, as two of the three parents lived in Barton Road. An original and current aim is to provide local football to youths who may not otherwise have the opportunity.
